What’s an RSS Feed?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS allows you to grab up to date data feeds in your favourite reader/aggregator, or even display the feeds on another website.
My blog has all posts and user comments available in WordPress feeds. For example, if you found a post on here that really interested you and it was very active, you could subscribe to the comments feed for that particular post and all of the data would be delivered to your reader.
There are stand alone readers, web based readers, and most browsers have built in readers too. If you are interested in getting started but don’t know where to begin, I would recommend trying out Google’s reader. This is a web based reader that you can access from anywhere. Some people also download feeds to their Blackberry, iPhone or other smartphone so they can read them on the way to work. I use Google’s iPhone optimized reader when on the go.
