Ian Hoar — Passion for Technology – Geeking Out

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was and still is one of my favourite online FPS games. Not since Quake 3 Arena has a game managed to grab my attention for so long. I think it’s due to the extreme intensity of the game, it really is a rush to play.

The newest member of the COD franchise is Call of Duty: World at War. Today the debut trailer was launched and you can watch it at Gametrailers.

I have taken some screenshots below. It will be set in the World War II time line, which is a bit of a disappointment since I think the WWII theme in games has been overdone. Modern Warfare was really refreshing in that sense. That said the trailer looks promising, and if they keep the same game mechanics that made Modern Warfare a hit, they might have another winner. The new Call of Duty is also supposed to have drivable vehicles, lets hope this doesn’t offset the game balance.
